If you were hoping that Asus’ next handheld console would be coming to South Africa, the brand has good news for locals.
The company announced the new ROG Ally X on 2 June 2024, showing off several improvements over its predecessor.
While the ROG Ally X uses the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor as the 2023 ROG Ally, it comes with a longer battery life, faster RAM, and more storage.
It also features a black colorway for the chassis, making it easy to visually discern it from the white colourway of the original ROG Ally.
You can see a summary of the ROG Ally X’s specs below:
- APU: AMD Z1 Extreme
- Display: Full HD 1080p 7-inch display with 120Hz refresh rate
- Battery: 80Wh
- RAM: 24GB DDR5X-7500
- Storage: 1TB SSD
- Operating system: Windows 11
Price and availability in South Africa
When it lands on South African shores, the ROG Ally X will cost R17,999. This is a slight increase from the original ROG Ally that cost R15,999 when launched in South Africa.
Pre-orders for the device will open in South Africa from 27 June 2024.
